I’m Destiny Aman – welcome to my professional portfolio. I am a management consultant for a small, woman-owned consulting firm in Washington DC called HWC.
In my work, I combine design, strategy, project management, and facilitation to help my clients address complex issues – especially those that occur at the intersection of people and the environment.
A geographer by training, my background includes a subject-matter focus on environmental communication, the human dimensions of natural hazards (risk, vulnerability, and mitigation) and global environmental change. As HWC’s Strategic Designer, I help clients explore and address issues at all levels – from environmental to individual – by applying analysis/synthesis, strategy, facilitation, and visual communication methods.
Prior to supporting the Federal government, I worked as an instructor, researcher, and consultant at Penn State University. In all of these roles, I worked to creatively translate best practices into tailored, effective approaches for addressing client, student, and stakeholder needs.
This portfolio includes a sampling of solutions I’ve developed and supported across these spheres, as well as an overview of my research, teaching, and service experience – you can learn more by navigating the tabs above. Thank you for visiting.
